CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

SPARX TEAM WORKSHOP (3-4 DAYS)

(GRADES 1-3)

Are you interested in auditioning for competition team or just want to learn a fun new dance routine? This workshop is for you! You don't have to commit to auditioning to attend this workshop, but dancers who wish to be placed on a competitive team must attend this workshop for evaluation. Auditions will take place on day 4. Check out our website for the skills and behaviors dancers at each level should have. Not sure which audition to attend? Send us a quick text (208) 934-6768. Workshop is 1.5 hours Mon-Wed, audition 1.5 hours Thurs.

SPARX TEAM CHOREOGRAPHY (6 WEEKS)

(GRADES 1-3)

**PLACEMENT EVALUATION REQUIRED** Hot Shots Dance Company Sparx Team is the NOVICE/BEGINNER performing group of Wyldfire Dance Studio. Dancers MUST be the most dedicated and have the desire to take their dancing to the next level. Dancers should have 1 year of dance experience under their belt. Dancers must have permission to join. Sparx must participate in an audition workshop for team placement and this choreography intensive over the summer. This group will learn at least 1 jazz routine and 1 hip-hop routine that will be performed at 3-4 competitions (Team Dance in Twin Falls, Dance Fierce in Burley, Canyon Rim Dance Classic in Jerome, and America On Stage at Lagoon). Company dancers are required to take class THREE TIMES weekly, including DANCE DYNAMIX I, TOE TAPPERZ I, SPARX, and SPARX AcroDance. Extra Saturday rehearsals and holiday break rehearsals may be scheduled as competitions get closer. Dancers on the brink of qualifying for Flames Team may be selected for one or more Flames Team routines. Company selection and placement are based on skill level, maturity, and age. Weekly commitment is 3.25 hours. TEAM MEMBERS MAY INCUR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TOWARD DANCE DYNAMIX AND ACRODANCE COSTUMES. Tuesdays 55 minutes.

 

FLAMES TEAM WORKSHOP (3-4 DAYS)

(GRADES 4-6)

Are you interested in auditioning for competition team or just want to learn a fun new dance routine? This workshop is for you! You don't have to commit to auditioning to attend this workshop, but dancers who wish to be placed on a competitive team must attend this workshop for evaluation. Auditions will take place on day 4. FLAMES TEAM CHOREOGRAPHY (6 WEEKS)

(GRADES 4-6)

**PLACEMENT EVALUATION REQUIRED** Hot Shots Dance Company Flames Team is the ADVANCED BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE performing group of Wyldfire Dance Studio. Dancers MUST be the most dedicated and have the desire to take their dancing to the next level. Dancers should have at least 2 years of dance experience under their belt. Dancers must have permission to join. Flames must participate in a workshop for team placement and this choreography intensive during the summer. This group will learn at least 1 jazz routine, 1 hip-hop routine, and 1 lyrical routine that will be performed at 3-4 competitions (Dance Fierce in Burley, Canyon Rim Dance Classic in Jerome, and America On Stage at Lagoon). Company dancers are required to take class THREE days weekly, including DANCE DYNAMIX II OR III, TOE TAPPERZ II OR III, FLAMES A, ACRODANCE I OR II and FLAMES B. Extra Saturday rehearsals and holiday break rehearsals may be scheduled as competitions get closer. Dancers on the brink of qualifying for Xtreme Team may be selected for one or more Xtreme Team routines. Company selection and placement are based on skill level, maturity, and age. Weekly commitment is 4.5 hours. TEAM MEMBERS MAY INCUR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TOWARD DANCE DYNAMIX AND ACRODANCE COSTUMES. Tuesdays 85 minutes.

 

 

XTREME TEAM WORKSHOP (3-4 DAYS)

(GRADES 7+)

Are you interested in auditioning for competition team or just want to learn a fun new dance routine? This workshop is for you! You don't have to commit to auditioning to attend this workshop, but dancers who wish to be placed on a competitive team must attend this workshop for evaluation. Auditions will take place on day 4. XTREME TEAM CHOREOGRAPHY (6 WEEKS)

(GRADES 7+)

**TEAM PLACEMENT EVALUATION REQUIRED** Hot Shots Dance Company Xtreme Team is the INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED performing group of Wyldfire Dance Studio. Dancers MUST be the most dedicated and have the desire to take their dancing to the next level. Dancers should have at least 3 years of dance experience under their belt AND the permission of the director to join. Required skills include splits, double pirouettes, cartwheels, backbends, excellent rhythm and musicality, and a great attitude. At this level, dancers must attend a workshop for team placement and a this choreography intensive over the summer. This group will learn at least 1 jazz routine, 1 hip hop routine, 1 lyrical routine, and 1 routine in a 4th style that will be performed at 3-4 competitions (Team Dance in Twin Falls, Dance Fierce in Burley, Canyon Rim Dance Classic in Jerome, America On Stage at Lagoon). Company dancers are required to take class FOUR days weekly, including JAZZ IT UP III, TOE TAPPERZ III, BALLET BASIX III (prepointe/pointe), XTREME A, XTREME B. Extra Saturday rehearsals and holiday break rehearsals may be scheduled as competitions get closer. Company selection and placement are based on skill level, maturity, and age. Weekly commitment is 4.75 hours. TEAM MEMBERS MAY INCUR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TOWARD DANCE DYNAMIX AND ACRODANCE COSTUMES. Tuesdays 85 minutes.

 

FAIRY GARDEN DANCE PARTY (6 WEEKS)

(AGES 3-7)

**MUST BE POTTY TRAINED**

Your budding ballerina won't want to miss out on this 6-week pixie party! Our fairy garden camp is a magical adventure in creative movement. It's full of dancing with fairy friends, playful games, challenging obstacle courses and a sparkly craft...all sprinkled with a little pixie dust. Dancers will receive their own fairy wings, wand, headband, and tutu to wear with any outfit they can leap, kick, and wiggle in. Parents are invited to watch a special performance in our fairy garden during the last 10 minutes of camp on the last Monday, July 22.

 

THE ERAS CAMP (6 WEEKS)

(AGES 7-12)

Calling all Swifties!!! Don't miss your chance to dance to iconic Taylor Swift tracks for 6 weeks of summer. Bring your besties and dress in your favorite T-Swift Era each day. We'll be dancing, playing some Taylor Trivia, and even singing along with some group karaoke. Parents are invited to watch a special Swiftie performance during the last 10 minutes of camp on the last Monday, July 22.

 

MASTER YOUR TURNZ (6 WEEKS)

(5TH - 12TH GRADES)

Do you wish you could consistently get your turns? Stop wishing and start working. Turning shouldn't be a guessing game. There are specific steps that need to be taken and muscles that need to be strengthened and activated in order to nail your turns consistently. Come work with us for 6 weeks on the ins and outs of turning and turn combinations!

 

TINY TUMBLERZ (6 WEEKS)

(AGES 3 THROUGH 1ST GRADE)

**MUST BE POTTY TRAINED**

Tiny Tumblerz is a 6-week introductory tumbling camp. Tumblerz will be introduced to and work on perfecting their somersaults, headstands, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. They will learn how to properly warm up and stretch their muscles before diving into their skills, including super fun and challenging obstacle courses. Tumblerz will also learn a short combination of skills to practice to music all summer long! (Practicing SAFELY and playfully at home is key to advancing tumbling abilities!) Parents are invited to watch and video their tumblerz performing this combination during the last 10 minutes of camp on Wednesday, July 24.

 

TOE TAPPERZ (6 WEEKS)

(GRADES 1+)

This 6-week camp teaches the basics of tap, including rhythm, percussive sounds and steps, and terminology. This class requires willingness to accept a challenge, maximum effort, and excellent listening skills. Tap dancing is an excellent way for dancers to reinforce rhythm and musicality. We create the beats with our feet! WARNING: Toe Tapperz may not be suitable for children with noise sensitivity. Tapperz will learn a short tap combination to present to their parents during the last 10 minutes of class on Wednesday, July 24.

 

STREET FUZION (6 WEEKS)

(GRADES 1+)

Hip-Hop with Wyldfire is both playful and powerful. During this 6-week camp, dancers will learn body isolations, hip-hop moves, history, and proper hip-hop vocabulary. Dancers will be taught what it means and encouraged to freestyle! Dancers will learn a short hip-hop combination that they will perform for their parents during the last 10 minutes of class on Wednesday, July 24.

 

ROYAL-TEA DANCE PARTY (3 DAYS)

(AGES 3-7)

Join us on a royal ballet adventure! Come to dance dressed like your favorite princess or prince or a beautiful ballerina or dashing ballerino all 3 days. Dancers will learn ballet steps, freestyle with hand props, read stories, have a royal tea party, and learn a short ballet combination to perform for their parents during the last 10 minutes of camp on day 3. Hair should be neatly pulled back. **Must be potty trained.**

 

TIK TOK ‘N TIE DYE (3 DAYS)

(GRADES 1-5)

Who doesn't love tie dye?! Create your own tie dye patterned T-shirt on day 1, learn 2 popular (appropriate) Tik Tok dances on days 1 and 2, and collaborate with your dance friends to come up with an original Tik Tok dance on day 3. Tik Tok may be annoying to us parents, but it can be a useful tool! Learning and recall: How quickly can you learn and remember a combination of moves? Creativity and interpretation: What kind of moves can you use to represent the lyrics or sound effects that you hear? ​Dancers will present their Tik Toks to their parents in their tie dyed shirts during the last 10 minutes of camp on day 3. THERE WILL BE NO POSTING TO SOCIAL MEDIA DURING CAMP, BUT PARENTS CAN RECORD THEIR DANCERS' PERFORMANCE.

 

MASTER YOUR TRICKZ(3 DAYS)

(GRADES 5+)

Do you wish you could consistently and cleanly nail your dance jumps, leaps and tricks? Stop wishing and start working. There are specific exercises to strengthen, stretch and activate your muscles and protect your joints in order to safely and effectively nail your gravity-defying skills. Come work with us for the ins and outs of jumping, leaping, tricking and creative combinations!
